  • Poblano Chili Peppers – For starters, Poblano chili peppers are also called Ancho chiles, and they are a dark green, very large pepper. Ancho means “Wide” in Spanish, and this pepper has a sweet taste, and it is generally a mild tasting pepper in terms of spiciness.  
  • Jalapeño Chili Peppers – Secondly, one of the most popular chili peppers in the world is the jalapeño pepper. This pepper is very versatile, and it is prepared in many different ways such as being smoked, pickled, fresh, and roasted. Chipotle peppers are actually just dried  jalapeños, did you know that?   • Serrano Peppers – Serrano peppers are very spicy. The serrano peppers are grown in the Puebla and Hidalgo mountainous areas. The serrano pepper is used to make giardiniera, and used in many fresh salsas as well.
  • Habanero Peppers – The habanero peppers are one of the hottest and spiciest peppers in the world. The habaneros that are unripe are green, then they can turn a different color as they grow. Some of the common habanero pepper colors are orange and red, but they do have some that are purple, green, yellow, brown, and white. Habaneros are the spiciest peppers worldwide. 
  • Ghost Peppers – Last, the ghost peppers is from the Capsicum Chinese pepper family. In 2007, the ghost pepper was named the hottest chili pepper in the world by the Guinness World Records. This pepper is 170 times hotter than Tabasco sauce. Zowsers!
