Right now, travel plans that were scheduled have been cancelled or probably postponed. However, if we work together, we can all get through this and travel will be possible again soon. While Mexico’s resorts have been closed until further notice, they are all looking forward to welcoming guests back in the future when it is safe.  Until then, we all must stay at home and follow preventative measures and regulations. Read below to learn vacation advice in Mexico, and how it has changed in 2020.

Vacation Advice in Mexico

Travel Tip 1: Pack Less

When you are able to go on vacation again, then you should try to pack less items. If you only use a small suitcase or even a backpack versus a large suitcase, then it will help you get around easier. You can move quickly and avoid any spaces that are crowded with a smaller bag or backpack. Doesn’t it just make sense to pack less for your vacation in 2020? This experience has shown us that we can all get by with a lot less than we thought we could.

Travel Tip 2: Avoid Large Crowds

Everyone has learned how vital it is now to avoid large crowds. Typically, many tourist attractions are known for attracting large crowds. However, avoiding large crowds is a good idea even after the coronavirus situation ends. When you are traveling and on vacation, you should avoid large crowds. When you go sightseeing, plan to go in the morning hours which are normally less crowded. Also, you should try to ride bikes or walk to different attractions. You should avoid using public transportation, because many people use public transportation so the risk of germs is increased.

Travel Tip 3: Practice Smart Hygiene

Once everyone can start traveling, you should still continue to practice social distancing along with practicing smart hygiene. You should continue to regularly wash your hands and avoid people who are sick. Refrain from touching your face and eyes. You should also carry hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes, so you can wipe off any type of surfaces that you touch. Washing your hands with warm water and soap is still recommended. You should refrain from shaking anyone’s hands, hugging others, or kissing when you are greeting other people.

Travel Tip 4: Use A GPS Map

When you are finally on vacation and exploring the new city, you should use a GPS map on your phone. It is a useful tool to help avoid crowded locations. Today, there are many free GPS map apps on your smartphone, but if you still would rather use a paper map, you should try to disinfect it the best you can.

Travel Tip 5: Bank Account Access

When you are able to go on your much needed vacation, you should carry an extra ATM bank card or credit card with you. Many banks charge fees to withdraw cash from an ATM, so you can contact your bank and credit card company to see what regulations they have. Having bank account access and carrying an extra ATM bank card or credit card may just save your vacation if you happen to lose your card or if it is stolen while you are on vacation.
