How it all began with Villa Group

The Villa del Mar resort in Puerto Vallarta was the first property to be acquired by the Villa Group. The success of this resorts paved the way for the Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta. These resorts did so well that the Villa Group soon expanded to Cabo san Lucas where they opened the second Villa del Palmar  resort and it’s subsequent sister resorts of Villa La Estancia and Villa del Arco.

Puerto Vallarta went on to become such a popular vacation destination that developers began to take interest in the towns and villages around it. Nuevo Vallarta was soon being considered by vacation clubs of all calibre, and the Villa Group joined the fray with their Villa del Palmar Flamingos resort in a neighborhood with great golfing opportunities and a wonderful beach. The second high-end Villa La Estancia hotel was soon to follow.

During this time the owner of Tafer Corporation began to develop a very special lakeside retreat cum boutique called Sierra Lago. The resort can be found in the Sierra Madre Mountains near Mascota in Jalisco. Sierra Lago started as just a few cabins, but now has a heated outdoor pool, a sports court, a games room, outdoor chapel, and full activities schedule for guests to enjoy.

The next property to join the roster of Villa del Palmar resorts was Villa del Palmar Cancun.

The success of the Villa Group’s brands led to Tafer Corporation’s owner making a choice to develop a new brand of resort for the elite world traveller. The Garza Blanca brand is one which embodies luxury and fun; couples, families, and groups of friends are all welcome here. The Garza Blanca Resort & Spa is set in its own coastal nature reserve which covers 85 acres of land.

More recently an adults only sister hotel to the Garza Blanca has opened up on the preserve; the Hotel Mousai is one of the few 5 Diamond hotels in the country and truly takes the theme of luxury, exclusivity, and sophistication to the next level. This preserve and its two hotels have been so successful that Tafer now plans to open Garza Blanca resorts in Los Cabos, Cancun and Riviera Maya.
