Mexico’s trading power is the classification or assessment given to a timeshare week in a Mexican resort by RCI vacation club.

RCI vacation club uses the concept of trading power to help its members make like for like exchanges. That is, when you join RCI vacation club you have the option of joining by adding or “depositing” your timeshare week with RCI. When you look for a destination and resort where you would like to go in exchange for your timeshare week, you will see how many points the week has been given and thus its trading power.

Your trading power, whether your timeshare was bought in Mexico or anywhere else in the world is calculated in the same way by RCI so that you get a fair idea of the kinds of resorts and destinations you are swapping your timeshare for. The way that RCI calculates your trading power is based on a series of criteria or classifications that include the location of the timeshare week, the resort, the size of the unit and how early in advance you deposit your week for exchange. All of these elements affect your trading power.

The location of your timeshare will have a bearing on your trading power, for example, some destinations like Mexico will have higher trading power than other less popular destinations and so forth. So it is a good idea to check out the trading power of the country where you are going to buy your timeshare week if it is your intention to make regular exchanges using RCI.
